March 20, 2012 Marine Drive Mobile unveils QR Code integration to its core technology

San Francisco, CA – Marine Drive Mobile Corp. (OTCBB: MDMC) (“Marine Drive Mobile” or the “Company”) announced today that the Company’s technology is fully QR code integrated for merchants. Customers purchasing deals now have a paperless option to redeem merchant coupons.

“QR codes are an integral part of the discount deal shopping experience for consumers in 2012,” said Colin MacDonald, Marine Drive Mobile Corp. CEO. “By including this paperless redemption option with our software, merchants and retailers simultaneously produce QR codes for each and every deal they create. This gives merchants the power to access this marketing tool easily, while at the same time providing customers with the ability to easily redeem deals with the simple scan of the coupon QR code.”

The eTeeoff deal site software QR code features include:

  • Automatic generation of QR codes for every deal purchased.

  • An electronic verification process to authenticate deal coupons.

  • The ability to eliminate manual deal redemption through a quick QR code scan.

  • No need for consumers to print coupons and carry them with them – they can simply login to their “deal wallet” on their mobile phone or through the web, and show the coupon QR code to the merchant for easy redemption.

  • Online deal tracking of scanned coupon QR codes – allowing merchants to instantly check the number of coupons that have been redeemed.

“Our QR codes provide consumers with an easy-to-access paperless redemption process and give them an immediate link to the mobile web pages that are very specific to the deal they purchased,” said Andrew Strauss, Chief Technical Officer at Marine Drive Mobile Corp. “These unique identifiers give people a way to display coupons on their smartphones, and redeem them electronically without the hassle of carrying a printed copy.”

A QR (Quick Response) code is a matrix code (or two-dimensional bar code) that is gaining popularity as a common response channel. QR codes can be scanned by different types of barcode readers that can easily be found online and installed for free on various mobile smartphones. QR Codes have become popular with brands and consumers alike. The square boxes with matrix-like lines inside are often seen at tradeshows, in newspapers, social media pages, outdoor signs and many other places.

Our flagship product eTeeoff will be the first to benefit with this technology integration. Allowing golf merchants and retailers alike the freedom and security that QR code technology brings. All golf deals that the golf merchants’ setup will be seamlessly tracked through our constantly evolving platform.
